Through years of experiences, I found that there are three main requirements you should look for from a cheap hosting plan. By matching these requirements with your needs and wants, you will be able to find a reliable yet cheap web hosting package that suits your needs perfectly.
The first requirement is of course disk space. Most cheap web hosting plans come with limited disk space, while others might offer generous amount of disk space for a slightly higher price. There is no need to get a web hosting plan that offers 100GB of storage space if all you need is 1GB, but do make sure you have enough disk space for the site.
Also check the bandwidth limit attached to the hosting plan you are interested in getting. Make sure you have at least 5GB so that your site can be visited by many users without running out of bandwidth. There are also hosting plans that offer unlimited bandwidth, perfect for sites with heavy traffic.
Last but certainly not least, make sure you have FTP access so that you can upload files and make changes conveniently. You can only do so much when using the web-based control panel, and FTP access is still needed for transferring large – both in size and quantity – files to the server.
